Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Adonis – a mythical being most likely created to appease a feminine need for idyllic romance. At my age there have been many good looking men I’ve known in various capacities – friends, lovers, and yes, even my ex-husband (that’s why my kids are so attractive!) Yet, it wasn’t until recently that this fabled creature, a true Adonis, revealed his inner qualities to me.

Is it because he strikingly gorgeous? No.
Is it because he is strong as Atlas? No.
Is it because his body is perfect? No.
Is it because his eyes burn with an intense virility? No.
Is it because he has command of the wealth of the heavens? No.

Well, if those are the criteria the original concept of Adonis must have been dreamed up in a menopausal libidinous fantasy.

The Adonis of the 21st century, however, has evolved to much more than an imaginary character. The Adonis I know is true to himself and that is his major attraction.

Aphrodite never had it so good.
