Ninety Days

Three months - 90 days - what's in a number? Are numbers that significant? To many they are. To many, nothing is attempted if the "numbers" aren't correct. I have been obsessed with numbers lately. FOUR ounces of protein, EIGHT ounces of raw greens, SIX ounces of fruit, SIX ounces of cooked vegetables. Sometimes my head spins with the boredom and simplicity.

Last year when I completed the Raw Chef training at CHI the amounts weren't emphasized. The content of our diets were -- raw - vegetarian - PERIOD. It was a life-giving and delicious - gourmet. However, there was liberal use of agave, honey, and various spices.

What does one do when learning several modalities of healing? My current program is working and my blood test "numbers" prove that! I guess one just needs to decide and STICK TO IT - no matter what one chooses. I've chosen the no sugar/no flour route... and sometimes really miss raw chocolate cheese cake and butternut squash salad....... who knows, maybe one day they can be incorporated into the program as well.

So, what's in a number? Anything you want to put into it!

ASTONISHMENT!

That seems to be the only word in my vocabulary that I can grab onto to describe what is going on in this fair area of ours! Henderson Castle - one of my old haunts (no, I'm not a ghost, although the castle is haunted) - is now being opened as a healing center (my definition). A new owner, and new ideas... I am astonished - I am thrilled - I am hopeful for this area. What a great reason to smile.

76 Trombones....

... led the big parade.... etc. etc. I feel like there should be a big parade. 76 days in the program and blood sugar readings have dropped from 129 in a.m. to 91.... Blood pressure significantly better - along with other "blood test numbers." I didn't need the numbers to prove to myself how much better I feel without the added sugars in my diet. Oh, and I reached my first goal of minus 25 pounds. Terrell's home made pound cake just about "did me in" yesterday. But, God is faithful to give me grace and strength to resist. One bite, one piece wouldn't have killed me, but the downward spiral that one bite would have caused would have been the culprit.

Three bunches of bananas dehydrated yields just over a quart of tasty crispy critters! Smelled yummy while processing!

Blessed in Portage!
