Home Again

Ah, what a difference a few days in the life of a cat make. Sophie returned, 8 of her 9 lives intact. She was gone for 7 nights and 8 days. Taking her to the vet was expensive. She had three bite wounds, one had ripped slightly, and another abscessed. She is now safe at home and she will never ever be allowed to go outside near the woods again. I thank the angels of safety that brought her home! God is faithful.

Distraught Times Two

In less than a week I lost two beings from my life that I love dearly... and it is almost impossible to stop crying once I start thinking of them. So, I try to not think - just be and do what is needed to do. The first poem is about my friend:

"Lost"

Searching -- to make sense of it all.
Did we become too close?
Were we too much alike?
Was the honesty too intense?

Stunned -- not understanding.

Grieving -- just beginning.
Emotional
Painful
Unexplained loss.

The second is about my companion and pet:

"Sophie"

Sophie's gone.
Beckoned by the world.
Sophie's gone.
Her warmth no longer mine.

Sophie -- I'm here.
I cry out into the night
Sophie -- I'm here.
Misery is mine.
